Nick Hayes

Head of Total Return & Fixed Income Asset Allocation

In his role as Head of Fixed Income Allocation and Total Return Team, Nick is responsible for leading the investment team within the Active Fixed Income business, dedicated to Benchmark Aggregate, Unconstrained, and Impact strategies. This role became effective in April 2020, with the primary objective of enhancing the focus on total return fixed income strategies at AXA IM.

Nick oversees a team of 7 fund managers, situated in the London and Paris offices, managing assets across various funds and mandates, supporting a diverse global client base.

Nick places a strong emphasis on managing "strategic" funds, which dynamically allocate across the entire fixed income risk spectrum. He serves as the Lead Portfolio Manager for the AXA WF Global Strategic Bond Fund (LUX SICAV) and the AXA Global Strategic Bond Fund (UK OEIC) since the inception of the strategy in 2012. 

Beyond his portfolio management duties, Nick is responsible for providing relative value analysis of various sectors within AXA IM’s Portfolio Manager Analyst credit research organisation.

Nick's tenure at AXA IM began in 2010 as a Senior Portfolio Manager, managing several credit and aggregate mutual funds. Prior to joining AXA IM, Nick spent eight years at Henderson Global Investors (previously known as Henderson New Star) as a Senior Portfolio Manager in the New Star Fixed Interest team. Before this, Nick was employed at WPP Group plc.

Nick graduated from Trinity College, Dublin, with a Bachelor’s degree in French and Spanish.
